HASTINGS, IVEY, BLACKWELL, JACKSON - I am looking for information about the HASTINGS family that owned Hastings Mill in Georgia. Amanda HASTINGS married John L IVEY before 1871. They had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth IVEY (b 1871), born in Augusta, GA. She died in the 60's in NC as a BLACKWELL (2nd hus band). Mary's first husband was Elbert JACKSON.

HOLLAND, GLENN - Seeking information on William A. HOLLAND, Sr. I am his grandson. He was married to Myrtle GLENN from Banks County. They hade two children William A., Jr and Mary Elizabeth. I am told he was killed in a sawmill accident (a boiler explosion) some time in the late 1920s or early 1930s, possibly in the Augusta area. The two children were born in Jefferson, Jackson County, GA, in the early 1920s. Looking for any record that might help me discover his home of record and his parents.

BOLT - Looking for information on Isham (or Isom) BOLT. He supposedly came from Oconee County, SC. Family story is that he left Westimister, SC one day to take corn to the corn mill in West Union, SC and never returned. The family was told that he died and was buried in Augusta. I do not know his birth date. His wife was Mary Caroline MCCLURE b. 1827 and died 1909. His birth date is probably around 1827. I do not know how many children he had. One was Henry BOLT. Any information will be appreciated.

BURROWS - This query is in regards to Rufus D. Burrows, a Baptist preacher and missionary of the American Sunday School Union, who is believed to have been murdered by highwaymen while returning home from a revival. This is believed to have happened in the late 1890’s in the Augusta area. His remains were not recovered. I am Rufus BURROWS’ great-grandson.

SMITH, JOHNSON - Seeking information on Catherine SMITH of Augusta, who was widowed after 1833 and later married Elisha R. JOHNSON and moved to Vicksburg with her three children: George W. SMITH, Mary Jane SMITH and Theodosia SMITH. All three SMITH children were born in Georgia, according to census records, but they lived most of their lives in Mississippi.

RUTLEDGE - Seeking information on John James RUTLEDGE, b. County Tyrone, Ireland. Immigrated to Charleston with his wife, Jane OFFICER RUTLEDGE. Firstborn was Thomas Officer RUTLEDGE, born in Charleston. Family came to Augusta area abt 1780, where at least 3 sons were born. John was a shoemaker. The family migrated West abt 1790. A Revolutionary War pay record shows a John RUTLEDGE in the GA Militia in 1782-1783. Is this John the same as above?
